This Privacy Policy explains how Hostliq ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our DevOps AI Platform (the "Service"), available at hostliq.com.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information — name, email address, and a securely hashed password (or your Google account identifier if you sign in with Google).
  • Content you submit — log excerpts, infrastructure descriptions, CI/CD parameters, and chat messages you provide to the AI-powered features.
  • Technical data — IP address (used for login rate-limiting and audit logging) and basic session/device information.
  • Usage data — a record of which features you use and when, so we can show you your own activity history.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including authenticating you and showing your account activity.
  • To process the content you submit through our AI features and return a result to you.
  • To maintain security — detecting abuse, enforcing rate limits, and keeping an audit trail of account actions.
  • To send you transactional emails (such as a welcome message when you create an account).

3. Third-Party AI Processing

When you use the Log Analyzer, Infrastructure Generator, CI/CD Builder, or AI Chat Assistant, the text you submit is sent to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI, and/or Anthropic where configured) for processing. We automatically redact common secret patterns — API keys, passwords, AWS credentials, JWTs, and database connection strings — from log content before it is sent, but you should still avoid pasting sensitive data you would not want processed by a third party.

4. Cookies

We use a single, essential, HTTP-only session cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies.

5. Data Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Session tokens are stored in HTTP-only, SameSite cookies that are inaccessible to JavaScript. In production, all traffic is served over HTTPS.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information and activity history for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account (or ask us to), your account record and associated activity history are permanently removed.

7. Your Rights

You can review and update your name at any time from your profile page. To request a copy of your data, ask us to correct inaccurate information, or request deletion of your account, contact us using the details below.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for business use and is not directed at, or knowingly used by, children under 16.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
